Wedgwood Christian Services
Wedgwood Christian Services (WCS), founded in 1960 is a distinctively Christian non-profit organization based in west Michigan that serves children and families from across the state of Michigan through professional counseling and educational services. WCS has been impacting the lives of underprivileged children and families by promoting healing and providing comprehensive treatment for abuse & neglect, depression, mental illness, sexual abuse, substance abuse and behavioral issues.
Today, WCS continues as a private, non-profit human service agency partially dependent on funding from private citizens to carry out our mission. Youth services include residential treatment, independent living, in-home intervention, outpatient counseling, and prevention. Our philosophy of care offers grace, promotes healing, and encourages learning. WCS also partners with Lighthouse Academy and Hope Academy of West Michigan in reaching refugee, low income, inner city and expelled youth.
Unique to Wedgwood is the Employment Training Program designed to hire high school students who otherwise may not be suitable for work and teach them basic job skills and proper job etiquette that will help them succeed later in life. The new Autism Center for Child Development at WCS impacts the lives of children on the Autism spectrum by offering specific therapies to meet the child’s and family’s needs.
