UICA

Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts

The Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts builds creative community by fostering new forms of expression, promoting collaboration, and providing genuine experiences with contemporary art.

UICA is dedicated to:

  • Contemporary arts as a catalyst for exploration, inspiration, and provocation
  • Promoting inclusive cultural dialogue and lifelong learning throughout our diverse society
  • Presenting contemporary art that is artistically excellent, thought provoking, and experimental
  • Advancing the careers and the creative processes of innovative emerging and mid-career artists
  • Producing vibrant, sustainable programs that attract, educate, employ, and retain a diverse creative workforce in West Michigan
  • Partnering with community leaders and neighboring organizations to enhance our urban environment
  • Protecting freedom of artistic expression because it is essential to a thriving community

Your donations help grow the creative community and the creative economy in West Michigan. Individual, joint, and family contributions to UICA’s Annual Fund make the presentation of contemporary art to children, residents, and visitors possible.

UICA relies on your gifts to bring art to its galleries, mount shows, pay artist honorariums, equip its spaces with lights, lifts and other equipment, provide supplies for the education programs, show films in the theater using the latest technology, and maintain amenities.

Your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. UICA is part of Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University. You will receive a letter acknowledging your donation from The Ferris Foundation.
