Streams Of Hope

Streams of Hope demonstrates God’s love and fosters sustainable change through programs that meet family’s needs, build relationships and promote a healthier community. We create community development programs and strive to become a catalyst for neighborhood revitalization.

Streams of Hope serves as a resource center for those within our community that are in need of food, educational assistance both in academics and nutritional awareness as well as emotional and spiritual support.

We know that nearly 1 in 4 Michigan children live in a food insure household. Our Food Center program currently serves over 450 of these families per month and continues to grow. These are families in our community that simply cannot make ends meet and are consistently wondering where their next meal might come from. Within our Food Center we have a Nutritional Options for Wellness program. This program provides free healthy food and healthy lifestyle classes to low income patients with chronic diseases such as COPD, Diabetes, Colitis. These are clients that have many dietary restrictions that we help them to monitor. We currently have 10+ clients that visit our pantry once a week to be part of this program and numbers are increasing. The Healthy lifestyle classes that we offer are now open to anyone in this community. We also have a community garden that supplies our pantry with fresh vegetables that we offer to our clients and after school students. We provide instructional help to those that want to learn how to grow their own vegetables to bring home to their families.

Within our healthy relationship program we have a tutoring and recreational program.

Our tutoring program works with the parents and schools to make sure our kids have the knowledge and support they need to succeed. This program coordinates with the current school curriculum and teachers to provide assistance with reading and math. This year we have 7 certified teachers who tutor 40 children with their math and reading each week. Our World Cup Readers Summer Camp and soccer camp encouraged 60 community kids to stay active and keep reading through the summers.

Our recreational program occurs during after school hours and in the summer to encourage mentoring and growth with students. We now have 24 neighborhood young men and women who are learning life skills and play hoops every week with mentors in our activity center.

As you can see we are a rapidly growing organization and grateful for our increasing base of support. We are very excited about what our Streams of Hope ministry has already become and look forward to follow in God's lead for our future. We hope that we can continue to share our challenges and successes in our Christian community development agency with you.

Thank you for your time and support to make our Streams of Hope community agency successful.

To speak from JOHN 7:38 - Jesus stood and said in a loud voice...” Whoever believes in ME, as the scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.”
