Families Against Narcotics, Grand Rapids Chapter
Families Against Narcotics is a Michigan-based grassroots advocacy organization providing local community resources and support for those affected by opiate addiction and their loved ones. The Grand Rapids chapter launched in winter 2017 and we see 70–90 people at our monthly educational meetings and provide individual resources from our county-wide network for anyone contacting us. We are one of over 2 dozen chapters statewide now, and we have a ten year experience with the opioid epidemic. Our leadership is strong and vibrant, working hard in finding initiatives that work in fighting the epidemic as well as the stigma of addiction, which prevents those needing help from getting it. We are active in promoting treatment, not incarceration, for those in the legal system and have made great progress around the state in that sector.
