East Hills Council of Neighbors

East Hills Council of Neighbors

Great neighborhoods don’t just happen. They’re created and supported by people like you.

Strong neighborhoods are created and maintained every time we work together and take collective action for what matters most to us in our community. Four years ago, we did just that when we co-created a vision for the future of East Hills. That vision was the East Hills Public Space Strategy.

This plan was innovative, award winning, and it couldn’t have happened without all of you! Because of you, we are seeing the results of the vision including:

  • 121 new street trees planted and four new trees in Cherry Park
  • Congress Elementary School enrollment has grown with two full Kindergarten classes, two full preschool classes, and two full first grade classes
  • 2016 was the first full season having Cherry Park open since the renovations to the park. The park had an increase of 4000 visitors and a successful summer music series showcasing local music.
  • Implementation of the new pedestrian signage on Cherry Street and Wealthy Street, increase of bike sharrows and bike lanes throughout our neighborhood.

Together, we have made East Hills a great place to live, work, and play. This is what community-building looks like – and we can’t do it without your help. We rely on the financial support of friends and neighbors like you.

All donations are tax-deductible. A gift to East Hills Council of Neighbors will support our work to keep fulfilling the goals this neighborhood made for itself four years ago, including our summer concert series at Cherry Park, ensuring our neighborhood is welcoming and affordable for people from a wide range of backgrounds and incomes, advocating for Congress School as a first choice among parents, and the continuation of our Let’s Go East Hills mobility initiative. It’s your donations and support that make our work possible. Thank you!
